Every year it has been tradition to host an ‘Annual Lunch’ at Stamford Bridge and with the ownership changes and covid restricting the event in recent years, it was a welcome return.

Many familiar faces were in attendance from current players to ex legends. Perhaps the most surprising development was chairman Todd Boehly opening up the event with a speech.

Boehly was joined by both sporting directors (Winstanley & Stewart) at the event as well as new CEO, Chris Jurasek. Gallagher and Broja were both present to represent the current day squad.

Todd Boehly addressed the crowd and via the clubs website by saying,“This is an event that I have heard so much about, when current and former Chelsea players are joined by hundreds of supporters to celebrate everything that is good about this wonderful football club. I am excited and honoured to be able to experience it for the first time.

The theme this year is Through the Ages, looking back at the club’s illustrious history since its foundation in 1905 and, as you can see from the trophies around the room here today, and the past and present players taking to the stage, there is a lot to celebrate.

We want to continue building on the success that the club has enjoyed over the years, and our mantra has not changed from the day that we became custodians of Chelsea Football Club. We want to win, together, and make you proud.”

As well as Boehly and current squad members attending, Jody Morris, Lampard and Zola were also invited to tell their stories about the club.
