This lunchtime Chelsea boss, Mauricio Pochettino held his pre-match press conference as the blues look to bounce back after Saturday’s disappointment.

One of the topics discussed in the press conference can relate to many Chelsea fans as the clubs biggest challenge being a mental block.

Pochettino told the press; “We are our own worst enemies. We need to focus on us. The problem is not going to be Brighton. In this process, we need to pay more attention to ourselves than the opponent.”

In many ways Pochettino is right, at least 80% of the games played this season, defeats and dropped points have been self inflicted and can be pinpointed into key moments. The Forest game was on one moment, the Brentford game was in similar fashion and the Aston Villa game was down to a subjective red card.

In order to progress during the process, Chelsea have to simply focus on what goes on the pitch, starting with the basics.
