With December just around the corner, the last day of the month in the Premier League means PL award nomination day and its good news for one Chelsea player who has been nominated for Premier League Player of the month (POTM) and Premier League goal of the month (GOTM).

Today’s news comes at a surprise as before today Chelsea have not had a player nominated for the player of the month award since March 2022. Kai Havertz and Trevoh Chalobah were the two nearly 2 years ago.

Raheem Sterling was today nominated for November POTM alongside Doku, Gordon, Kaminski, Maguire and Tavernier. Sterling managed a goal contribution in each of our four games across November, three in the Premier League.

Sterling scored against Manchester City and Newcastle, the latter being also nominated for PL goal of the month. Unfortunately it won’t be remembered as it came on the end of a 4-1 hammering. His assist against Tottenham at the beginning of the month means he ends with 2 goals, 1 assist in 3 league appearances.

If Sterling keeps up this form, not only will it delight Chelsea fans it surely edges him into Gareth Southgate’s England squad.

You can vote for Sterling in the GOTM here.
